cw-blog.jpgClose the door is a finalist for Best Campaign in Climate Week Awards today!

eddavey.jpg“I thoroughly support Close the Door’s objectives to save energy and cut carbon emissions in shops with such a simple measure. This is such an easy and positive contribution retailers may make to cut energy use significantly while reducing their fuel bills - and increasing the comfort of their staff and customers. I applaud the many stores of all types and sizes who have adopted a closed door policy when using heating or air conditioning, and urge those who haven't to join the campaign now. It is simply common sense"

Ed Davey, Secretary of State for Energy

Costa come into campaign nationwide

Posted by admin on March 2, 2012

costa_logo.gifCosta is the first coffee shop to come into the campaign nationwide - they are putting up their own customised Close the Door stickers now and are implementing the policy wholeheartedly. This is what they have to say:

Costa Coffee is delighted to support the Close the Door campaign and save energy within our stores. At Costa we pride ourselves on taking responsibility to the environment seriously. Having the door closed saves on carbon emissions as well as providing cost savings that we can pass on to our customers. It is also fundamental to the warm and welcoming environment which our customers love, as well as ensuring our staff are kept comfortable.

So if you are going for a coffee, please support this chain and tell the staff you like the policy.
