We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously and know that increasing the energy and resource efficiency of our business must underpin our growth plans. We have made a commitment to reduce our absolute operational carbon emissions by 15% by 2020/21, against a baseline of 2010/11. Ensuring our shops are energy efficient, benefitting both our customers and Partners, is key to achieving this. We have policies and mechanisms in place to ensure we keep the street doors of our John Lewis and Waitrose shops closed and have gone to lengths to install automatic doors across the majority of our shops with street openings."
